Step 1. Find a comfortable position and get yourself relaxed and settled. Get into a position that you will be able to maintain easily for the time you are going to hypnotize yourself. You can lie on your bed, however, if lying on your bed makes you want to go to sleep, it is best to choose another spot.
Step 2. Pick your “best” time of the day.
Step 3. Think about the length of time that you intend to spend for this session. Your self-hypnosis session should take around 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 4. Set your goals. What would you like to get out of this self hypnosis session? Make a statement to yourself about the reason you want to hypnotize yourself and say it loudly.
Step 5. Take a nice deep breath, close your eyes and being to relax.
Step 6. Just think about relaxing every muscle in your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Just begin to relax.
Step 7. Notice your breathing; notice the rhythm of your breathing and relax your breathing for a moment.
Step 8. Spend at least 20 minutes to relax every muscle of your body by focusing on each of them.
Step 9. As you are relaxing deeper and deeper, imagine a beautiful staircase. There are ten steps and the steps lead you to a special, peaceful and beautiful place.
Step 10. Imagine taking a safe, gentle and easy steps down on the staircase, leading you to a very peaceful, a very special place for you. You can imagine it to be any place you choose, probably you would enjoy a beach or ocean with clean, fresh air or any place is perfectly fine.
Step 11. Count backwards from ten to one and you can imagine taking these steps down and as you take each step, feel your body relax, more and more, feel it just drift down each step and relax even deeper.
Step 12. Now, imagine a peaceful and special place. You can imagine and even feel it. Imagine yourself there and feel that sense of peace flow through you and enjoy these positive feelings and keep them with you along after the session is completed. Enjoy the special place as long as you want.
Step 13. Begin to count from one to ten and as you count from one to ten you can begin coming back to full consciousness. You will come back feeling refreshed as if you had a long rest. Come back feeling alert and relaxed.
